Frozen Sheets
Possibly the strangest on our best summer hacks list, but I say don’t judge it until you’ve tried it! Store a set of folded sheets in the freezer for those unbearable days of heat. Take them out at bed time for a cool down like no other! Lay on top of it or under if you can handle all that cool!
Aloe Ice Cubes
There always seems to be at least one time a summer when you forget sunscreen and end up with a sunburn. Aloe gel is a great help, but sometimes too painful to apply. The answer is our next best summer hack. Mix a solution of fresh aloe and water (or aloe gel and water). Put the liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze. Store in a bag or container to have on hand for soothing relief when you need it.
Water Bottle Cooler Ice
This best summer hack seems so obvious yet it’s one I always get several surprised reactions about. Instead of using ice cubes or bagged ice in your cooler or beach bags, freeze plastic bottled drinks! Do not use glass, cans, or hard plastics, but the softer plastic bottles of water, juice pouches, or boxes can all be put in the freezer the night before. As they melt you can enjoy an ice cold drink on a hot day! No water from melted ice to dump or lug around!
DIY Cool Mist Spray
I love making my own mist sprays. It saves money and you can customize them to your preference. Wash and reuse spray bottles from previous beauty products. I use mineral water or distilled water for my sprays, but honestly even tap water is fine. Fill the spray bottle most of the way with the water. Next add aloe or any essential oil drops you enjoy. Keep the bottles in the fridge or freeze slightly. Use smaller bottles to take on the go! You can enjoy these refreshing mists while sunbathing, gardening, or working out. This will become a best summer hack of yours I’m sure!
Frozen Fruit Refresher
An oldie, but goodie is the make your own popsicles or ice cubes out of juice best summer hack. The possibilities are endless, get creative and try something new! Freeze yogurt for a quick snack or addiction to a smoothie. My new fave is to freeze the fruit itself! Frozen grapes, watermelon, or kiwis make great ice cube replacements or a cool snack.
